Elvis Presley, insieme al suo gruppo, si esibisce al Municipal Auditorium di Shreveport per il Louisiana Hayride alle ore 20.00.
Elvis Presley si esibisce, in qualità di attrazione aggiuntiva, in uno spettacolo con Hank Snow, Rod Brasfield, Mother Maybelle e le Carter Sisters, al Lyric Theater di Indianapolis.
E' la prima di 4 giornate di tour con Hank Snow.
Elvis si esibisce alle ore 14.00, alle ore 16.43 ed alle ore 19.00.
Lee Cotten racconta così l'ingaggio:
"Elvis, ingaggiato come "a county and bop singer", deve unirsi ad Hank Snow per quattro giorni al Lyric Theater di Indianapolis. Secondo un articolo successivo sull'Indianapolis Times (08 Agosto 1956), Snow è stato trattenuto da una tempesta di neve. Poichè non è riuscito a presentarsi al primo appuntamento, Elvis aveva proseguito con i numeri di supporto del comico Rod Brasfield, di Mother Maybelle e delle sorelle Carter.
Per i quattro giorni di ingaggio, Elvis viene pagato 750.00 dollari. La William Morris Agency di New York, che era già coinvolta nella negoziazione insieme al Colonnello Parker, inviò Lou Mindling da Chicago per tenere d'occhio Elvis. Il rapporto positivo di Mindling portò presto Elvis alla firma con la potente William Morris Agency, che negoziò i futuri ingaggi".
04 DICEMBRE 1956:
Elvis Presley e Marilyn Evans, una showgirl di Las Vegas, vanno alla Sun Records, arrivando nel bel mezzo di una session di registrazione di Carl Perkins. Elvis rimane per fare una jam session insieme a Carl, a cui si unisce Jerry Lee Lewis, che è presente in qualità di pianista della session di Perkins.
Sam Phillips chiama la stampa, per sfruttare l'inaspettata visita a scopo pubblicitario, e convoca anche Johnny Cash, che ha da poco firmato il contratto con lui.
La session, diventata famosa come "The Million Dollar Quartet", viene registrata da Sam Phillips, pur sapendo che non avrebbe mai potuto pubblicarla, dato che Elvis era già con la RCA.
Gran parte della session è fatta di musica gospel ed Elvis Presley suona il pianoforte per la maggior parte del tempo. Sebbene Johnny Cash sia presente nelle fotografie, la sua presenza non è molto evidente nella registrazione.
Sam Phillips fa una copia della registrazione per Elvis, che viene trovata nell'armadio della sua camera da letto, a Graceland, negli anni '80, insieme ad una registrazione del suo spettacolo di ritorno a Tupelo, e ad un'intervista fatta a lui ed ai suoi genitori.

Elvis e Priscilla Presley completano l'acquisto della loro nuova casa al 144 Monovale Drive, nella zona Holmby di Beverly Hills, pagandola 339.000 dollari. La casa è notevolmente più grande di quella al 1174 Hillcrest Drive ed ha a disposizione camere da letto per l'entourage e le rispettive mogli ed il terreno intorno offre a tutti la giusta privacy.
Dopo la separazione, Priscilla vi si è trasferita insieme a Lisa Marie, rimanendoci per i successivi 3 anni, finché l'abitazione è stata venduta.
Elvis acquista, inoltre, altri 7 pendenti TCB ed altri gioielli presso il gioielliere Schwartz & Ableser.
