E' da ora disponibile la quinta pubblicazione dell'etichetta Popcorn. Questo fantastico doppio album è completamente dedicato alle sessions di "Viva Las Vegas".
La maggior parte delle sessions si è svolta dal 09 all'11 Luglio 1963 presso lo Studio B del Radio Recorders Studio, situato ad Hollywood, California.
Elvis è tornato brevemente in studio l'08 ed il 30 Agosto per registrare "Santa Lucia" e "What'd I Say". Alcune sessions di sovraincisione e incisione hanno avuto luogo presso il soundstage della MGM nell'Agosto e nell'Ottobre del 1963.
Le sessions hanno prodotto 12 registrazioni master, oltre ad alcune versioni alternative del film. Il film è stato presentato in anteprima il 20 Maggio 1963 in tutti gli Stati Uniti. Tuttavia, non è mai stato pubblicato un LP della colonna sonora per "Viva Las Vegas", come era consuetudine all'epoca, sebbene ci sia stato un Extended Play, che è stato un fiasco.
La popolarità degli Extended Play era in declino da quando Elvis aveva pubblicato l'ultimo EP. Insieme all'Extended Play, è stato pubblicato anche un 45 giri con la canzone del titolo del film e "What'd I Say" di Ray Charles.
Ora potete godervi i momenti salienti di queste sessions di registrazione su questo doppio album deluxe. Tutte le takes sono completamente rimasterizzate ed hanno la miglior qualità audio possibile. Le versioni del film sono corrette in termini di velocità e sono presentate nel loro suono mono originale.
Questa edizione in vinile da 180 grammi di alta qualità molto limitata è disponibile in vinile oro oppure viola.
Inoltre, un'edizione oro/viola è disponibile in quantità molto limitata.
Tutte le tracce sono disponibili anche sui 2 CD bonus (in custodie di cartone) che sono aggiunti a questo pacchetto.
I due CD sono disponibili anche separatamente (in quantità ultra limitata) in un digipack deluxe.
