Il set viene presentato come segue:
RCA / Legacy Recordings, che fa parte di Sony Music Entertainment, pubblicherà "Elvis Back In Nashville", la presentazione definitiva delle sessions di Presley in studio a Nashville di Maggio-Giugno 1971 (la sua ultima a Nashville) a partire da Venerdì 12 Novembre 2021.
"Elvis Back In Nashville" sarà disponibile in versione 4 CD / digitale e raccoglierà 82 registrazioni originali, che catturano Elvis ed i suoi musicisti live in studio, mentre incidono canzoni che sono state inserite in pubblicazioni successive.
Queste sessions ci raccontano l'ultima volta in cui Elvis ha registrato a Nashville. Alcune incisioni sono state pubblicate, con l'inserimento di sovra-incisioni orchestrali e vocali, nella raccolta "Elvis Sings The Wonderful World Of Christmas", nell'album vincitore di un Grammy "He Touched Me" (1972), in "Elvis Now" (1972) ed in "Elvis" del 1973.
Come il suo predecessore "From Elvis In Nashville", "Elvis Back In Nashville" è stato progettato per mostrare come suonavano Elvis Presley e la sua band durante le sessions di incisione, senza sovra-incisioni strumentali o accompagnamenti vocali.
Una sostanziale differenza tra le sessions di Elvis del 1970 e quelle del 1971 a Nashville, è che molte delle incisioni del 1971 includono i coristi, pertanto "Elvis Back In Nashville" offre una varietà di canzoni con e senza supporto vocale.
Considerando la prolifica produzione di eccezionali registrazioni create da Elvis e dai suoi musicisti durante le fantastiche sessions della maratona del 1970, che si possono ascoltare in "From Elvis In Nashville", la RCA decise di tenere la combinazione vincente, formata da una band affiatata, uno studio conosciuto, un buon repertorio, un Elvis rilassato e spontaneo dietro al microfono e, ancora una volta, la registrazione di più materiale possibile nell'arco di un breve periodo di tempo.
Con l'aumento delle esibizioni dal vivo, il tempo da dedicare alle incisioni in studio sarebbe stato limitato in futuro, pertanto l'obiettivo di queste sessions era, probabilmente, quello di generare canzoni che potessero fruttare per un anno intero.
La RCA ed il Colonnello fecero sapere ad Elvis che avrebbe fatto loro piacere avere un nuovo album natalizio, un album gospel, un album pop e "molti nuovi singoli da pubblicare durante l'estate e l'autunno", così il produttore / coordinatore della musica di Elvis, Felton Jarvis, organizzò un'intera settimana di sessions, da fare nelle ore serali, a partire dal 15 Marzo 1971 e portò la stessa band usata l'anno precedente.
Il critico musicale Dave Marsh una volta scrisse: "Elvis Presley è stato, probabilmente, il cantante più sottovalutato di tutti".
Una volta rimosse le sovra-incisioni, quello che ci rivela "Elvis Back In Nashville" è una delle parti più avvincenti della carriera di Elvis Presley.
